Galaxy Tribute Funds

Jack Allwood

This tribute is to Jack Allwood, my son, brother to Mark, grandson and nephew to a family who loved him dearly.  From the moment he was born, on 22 March 1999, we knew he was a special little boy, he was beautiful with a smile that could melt anyone.

He started to develop slowly but normally, sitting, standing, crawling, crying, smiling, laughing and had a limited vocabulary, including his favourite words, “Light, door,” and “Nay” (Nanny).  At eighteen months old Jack was diagnosed with infantile Tay-Sachs disease.

Jack was a very loving boy, enjoying cuddles and kisses, which he got lots of!  As Jack lost his skills his enjoyment came from listening to the Tweenies, being sung to and watching his lights.  When he could no longer do those things he loved his cuddles even more.

Then, on Christmas Day 2002, aged 3 years, 9 months, 4 days, after giving his ‘Nay’ one last smile, Jack died in my arms.  He is desperately missed and will be forever in our hearts and thoughts.
