Galaxy Tribute Funds

Wyll Luca Saunders

Our beautiful little boy, Wyll died of Leigh’s disease five years ago.  He was two and a half.  At that time he was our one and only precious child.  He had such a lovely temperament, was always smiling and the most amazing dark eyes with the longest eyelashes you’d ever seen!

Wyll was such a sweet boy, placid and so tolerant.  Everyone who met him adored him.  In his short life he affected so many people.  We are better parents to our one-year-old, Gianluca because of Wyll; hopefully better people all round.  Wyll taught us the real meaning of love.

We have done several things in memory of Wyll.  This year we held a memorial concert at our church as a tribute.  It was a very moving experience for all of us.  It also raised awareness and funds for Climb.  We decided to start this tribute fund with the money raised at the concert in the hope that by raising money for Climb, cures for these metabolic diseases will one day be found and that affected children won’t have to suffer so much and that other parents will never have to go through the agony and grief of losing a child like this.

We would like part of this written tribute to be the Celtic blessing for a journey which we always sing at Wyll’s graveside on every anniversary.

Deep peace of the running wave to you

Deep peace of the flowing air

Deep peace of the quiet earth to you

Deep peace of the shining stars

Deep peace of the Son of peace to you

For now and evermore

For now and evermore

As Wyll’s gravestone says, Wyll was “Everything we wanted and all we hope to be”.
