Worldwide Travel Insurance - high quality on-line cover
Worldwide Travel Insurance have a great deal
of experience in offering cover to customers with a wide variety of medical
conditions. They have an in-house screening service which means that
customers are advised on the cover that we can offer and the applicable
premium very quickly, often within the first call to their office.
It would be extremely rare for Worldwide Travel to
refuse cover altogether; unless a person is traveling against the advice of
their doctor, they would always be able to offer a policy. This policy may
be with full cover for the condition or may have restrictions, depending on
the stability of the condition.
In general, they are able to provide cover for most
stable and well controlled pre-existing medical conditions.
Please note:
On the world wide travel charity page it states
that if any member of your party has medical conditions to declare, you need
to call our office on 0870 112 8100 for a quote.
Remember to mention your chosen charity's name and they will still receive
the 10% donation.
Please remember to mention CLIMB in the phone call
so that we will continue to receive the donation.
Examples:
Cystinosis -
Worldwide Travel can cover this condition, but full cover may depend on the
affects this has had on major organs, particularly the kidneys.
However, they are able to provide cover for Dialysis
patients if their condition is stable, if the Cystinosis has lead to Renal
Failure they may still be able to offer cover.
MCADD - assuming
that following diagnosis the condition will be well managed, the only
concern would relate to any organ damage which may have occurred before the
condition was diagnosed. If there is organ/brain damage, cover for this
would be assessed based on stability.
Neimann-Pick -
there is a greater likelihood that this condition would be excluded,
although it would be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
Phenylketonuria -
if this is well-managed, it would be covered. If the condition has caused
seizures there may be restrictions, however if the seizures are
well-controlled and generally do not require hospital treatment, they should
give full cover.
Tay-Sachs Disease
- they would be likely to exclude this condition, certainly in its infantile
form.
